Frangible Surrogate Arm in Development

Frangible Surrogate Arm - underside view

The range of surrogate human parts for the testing of energetic events is being expanded with the development of the Frangible Surrogate Arm – FSA

The driver behind the development was to extend the technology already proven in the NATO approved Frangible Surrogate Limb into a tool for examining ‘degloving’ protection for deminers and those others whose hands may be exposed to blast events.

Based on CT scans of life subject the 50th percentile FSA features an elbow joint that is compatible with that of the Hybrid III ATD (Crash Test Dummy).
